Villa Fatum, located in Canggu, Bali, earned recognition at the prestigious IAI Bali Awards in 2022, placing third in the Residential Project category. Developed by Franz Development, this architectural achievement showcases thoughtful design adapted to challenging terrain.
Intelligent Design
The villa occupies a compact footprint of 400 square meters of land with 250 square meters of built area. It features two bedrooms and includes a large 12x3m swimming pool with a stunning view of rice fields. Rather than fighting the sloping topography, the design embraces it strategically — the entrance and bedrooms sit at road level, while the living area and pool are below, blending nicely with the land.
This vertical organization creates a harmonious integration between structure and landscape, demonstrating that great architecture responds to its environment rather than imposing upon it.
