Semesta Villa is a contemporary tropical residence in Badung, Bali, whose name — meaning “universe” in Indonesian — reflects the design’s ambition to create a complete world within its walls. The architecture balances bold geometric forms with organic tropical elements, producing a villa that feels both cosmopolitan and deeply rooted in its Balinese setting.
Semesta Villa embodies the idea that a home can be a self-contained universe — a place where every spatial experience, from the intimacy of a reading nook to the grandeur of the main pavilion, forms part of a cohesive whole. The design uses layered volumes and shifting floor plates to create discovery within the home, while the material palette of natural stone and hardwood ensures the villa ages gracefully alongside its tropical garden setting.
