Griya is a thoughtfully named villa in Batu Bolong, Bali — the Javanese word for “home” reflecting the design’s aspiration to create a space that transcends mere accommodation to become a true dwelling place. Located in one of Canggu’s most vibrant neighborhoods, steps from the famous Batu Bolong beach, the architecture balances the area’s energetic social scene with the tranquility of a considered home.
Griya distills the meaning of home into its purest architectural form — shelter, comfort, and belonging. In the buzzing context of Batu Bolong, where cafes, surf shops, and creative studios define the streetscape, the villa offers an intentional counterpoint: a space of calm within the energy. The design uses solid perimeter walls to create privacy at street level, then progressively opens up toward the sky, culminating in a rooftop terrace that reconnects with the ocean and the sunset.
