Bougainvillea Villa is a vibrant island retreat in Lombok, NTB, named after the flowering plant that cascades across its facades and garden walls. The design celebrates Lombok’s raw coastal beauty and slower pace of life, creating an architecture that feels both rooted in its island context and refreshingly modern in its spatial approach.
Bougainvillea Villa takes its identity from its namesake flowering vine, using living architecture as much as built architecture to define its spaces. The design responds to Lombok’s unique microclimate and coastal orientation, creating covered outdoor rooms that stay cool through natural ventilation while framing views of the island’s dramatic landscape. Local stone and reclaimed timber ensure the villa grows more beautiful with age, weathering alongside its garden into a harmonious whole.
