Humble Beginnings
Lumbung Architect began its journey in 2009 as a small studio with a bold vision: to elevate Balinese architecture onto the global stage. Founded by a passionate team with deep roots in Bali’s design traditions, the firm started with modest resources but an unwavering commitment to quality. In those early days, the team worked from a compact workspace, taking on residential projects that allowed them to refine their craft and develop their distinctive design language.
Steady Growth
Over the following years, Lumbung Architect’s reputation grew alongside its portfolio. Word of mouth and consistently excellent project delivery attracted increasingly ambitious commissions. By the mid-2010s, the firm had expanded to a team of dedicated architects, designers, and project managers, handling projects ranging from private villas to commercial developments across Bali.
Expanding Horizons
In 2017, Lumbung Architect took a significant step by opening its Jakarta office, bringing its signature Balinese design approach to Indonesia’s capital. This expansion marked the firm’s transition from a regional practice to a nationally recognized architecture firm. The Jakarta office enabled closer collaboration with clients across Java and opened doors to international projects beyond Bali’s shores.
Where We Stand Today
Today, Lumbung Architect employs over 67 professionals across its Bali headquarters and Jakarta office. The firm has completed hundreds of projects spanning residential, hospitality, and commercial sectors, earning multiple international awards along the way. What began as a small studio driven by passion has become one of Bali’s most respected architecture firms — a testament to the power of vision, perseverance, and an authentic connection to place.
